Christine A. Jordan ‘Millie’ of Yorklyn, Del.
Christine A. Jordan, fondly known as “Millie” of Yorklyn, Del., passed away on Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. Born March 10, 1926 in Kennett Square, she was the daughter of the late Anna and Michael DiFilippo. Millie attended Kennett High School. In addition to being a homemaker, she also worked at NVF Company in Yorklyn, Yorklyn Elementary School and the Hockessin Montessori School. She was a member of Hockessin Ladies Auxiliary and Red Clay Valley Association. She was predeceased by her husband, James E. Jordan, Sr. in 1994, with whom she shared 48 years of marriage. Millie was also predeceased by her sisters, Rose, Mafalda and Yolanda; and brothers, Francis, Michael, Frank and Freddie. She is survived by her daughter, Debra, of Wilmington, Del.; son, James (Kristin) of Yorklyn, Del.; and granddaughters, Cheryl (Steve), Lindsey and Haley and great-grandsons, Mason and Jordan. Two sisters, Eva and Marie and many loving nieces and nephews also survive her. Millie (Mom Mom) was an extraordinary mother and grandmother and enjoyed above all else “taking care” of her family, especially her grandchildren. She will always be remembered as an exceptionally kind, generous, giving person and a fabulous cook. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18th, at Chandler Funeral Home, 7230 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, Del., where friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be immediately following at Hockessin Friends Cemetery.
